Picnic shelters are available for public use at five Wake County Parks, Recreation and Open Space locations. Visit our Shelters Page to learn more, including capacity limits and other rules. If you already know what shelter you want, you can reserve it through our online registration system. 

Helpful Hint: Within the reservation filter search function, the available search time must be between 9 a.m. and the seasonal park closing time. If you designate a time that is before or after shelter availability, the system will notify you that it is closed for reservation. You can contact the specific park for seasonal closing times.

To ensure that all park visitors have an enjoyable experience, registration is required for professional, client-based photo shoots. Photographers are responsible for reviewing the permit process and photography rules. Photographers must create an account to reserve permits.
