Winter Open House
Saturday, February 3, 1-4 p.m.
Join Blue Jay Point County Park for our Winter Open House that will get you out of the house and break up those winter blah's for a fun, hands-on activity filled afternoon.
This year's theme is the Wild World of Wetlands! Wherever land meets water, life abounds. Wetlands exist in every corner of this beautiful planet and are the arteries and veins of the landscape. Majestic and mighty, wetlands support amazing biodiversity. Learn how to encourage actions to restore and conserve these vital ecosystems.
Join us as we celebrate wetlands and all its parts through fun, hands-on activities—something for all ages! Play a game to see if you can survive in a wetland and learn how you can improve water quality, or go on a StoryWalk™ as you discover all about the creatures that call wetlands home. Try your hand at Wetland Trivia or make a craft about carnivorous plants and digest how these plants “bite back!” Learn about the importance of water quality and some nearby unique aquatic environments. Talk to our agency exhibitors about important things that we can improve OUR wetlands. Warm up by the Wetlands Fire while enjoying hot cocoa and cookies.
This is a great FREE winter Saturday outing with a combination of indoor and outdoor activities for families, scout groups, and adults.
No pre-registration is required.
