TLC offers teens the opportunity to cultivate leadership skills, develop a variety of interests and talents, contribute to the community and get to know other teens with similar interests. Give
WCPL Library Fund
Wake County Public Libraries plans to endow its future and continue to enrich the lives of Wake County residents. Gifts to the Library Fund enhance library facilities, services, programs and special collections. Gifts may be designated for special purposes or for specific branch locations.
Why Do We Need a Library Fund?
The Library Fund supplements, but does not replace, tax support. WCPL is supported solely by property taxes. From this source of funding, the library system provides a variety of services to Wake County residents of all backgrounds. To increase the level of services provided without increasing taxes, additional funding is a necessary and well-spent investment in the community's future.
How You Can Give
- Make a cash gift of any size.
- Donate appreciated stocks.
- Designate the Library Fund as a recipient of all or part of your estate.
- Name the Library Fund as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy.
- Commemorate someone, living or deceased, by making a gift or naming a fund in their honor.
- Designate the Library Fund as the beneficiary of a charitable lead trust or a charitable remainder trust.
To donate to the fund with a gift of cash, stock, insurance, trust or bequest funds, consult your financial advisor or attorney. Please make checks payable to the Wake County Public Libraries' Trust Fund.

Donate Books
Donations of Used Books
We accept donations of used books, audio books on CD, and DVDs only. Learn more about book donations.
Memorial Donations
One way to remember a friend or loved one is by making a memorial donation. A financial donation to the library allows us to purchase a book that is a lasting tribute and will benefit readers in the community for many years. Acknowledgment of this contribution will be made by mail to the person you designate and a bookplate denoting the memorial gift will be placed in the volume. To discuss your memorial gift, contact Dan Brooks at dan.brooks@wake.gov.
Donations Honoring Individuals or Groups
Celebrate the birth of a child, a friend’s birthday or any special occasion with a donation. With your financial donation, the library will purchase a book of special interest to the honoree. Acknowledgment of this contribution will be made by mail to the person you designate and a bookplate denoting the gift will be placed in the volume. To discuss your gift to honor an individual or group, contact Dan Brooks at dan.brooks@wake.gov.
