The Building Permit report makes use of pivot tables in presenting data. Use the tabs at the bottom of the sheet to move between permit counts and permit value totals. The data in the spreadsheet is cumulative, and you can use the Issue Month and Year filters to compare data month-to-month or year-over-year. The raw data tab allows you to view individual permits, should you require the ability to drill down to that level of detail.
Based on changes to the way the data is now reported, you may notice some minor variances compared to the prior method of tabulation. A few changes to note are:
- Exempt properties are excluded entirely from the new report.
- Commercial up-fit/retrofit permits are now included in the report, if we believe the permit may affect the property’s assessed value. These permits are reviewed by commercial appraisal staff prior to inclusion in the report.
- Additions and renovations are now listed as individual permit types.
