The Wake County Fire Investigation Team, working in cooperation with the proper local, state and federal agencies, conducts investigations into the causes of fires within Wake County. 

Our Team

Our team members hold certifications in firefighting and fire/arson investigation from the State of North Carolina and are skilled at reconstructing fire scenes to understand the sequence of events that unfold in a fire. Each member of the team has received extensive training in origin and cause determination, fire scene photography, courtroom testimony, evidence collection and many other relevant subjects.  

When deemed necessary, an accelerant detection canine is used in cooperation with the N.C. Office of State Fire Marshal and other local agencies.
