Project Summary
The newly Renovated Cornerstone Service Center provides expanded and enhanced services for all highly vulnerable residents in need of Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH). The Housing Program components includes intensive case management; Social Security Outreach, Access, and Recovery (SOAR) benefits assistance; vocational counseling; peer support; life skills training; and supported employment programs.
Cornerstone has become the PSH “front door” with a best-practice campus approach including 20 units of bridge housing. As bridge housing, these units create a space for clients experiencing chronic homelessness with acute health and mental health needs. Clients can begin to stabilize while preparing to be housed back into the community with a PSH voucher.
The renovations include the following: new ground floor entry spaces; multi-purpose room; open offices; administration offices; new ADA-accessible ground floor resident apartments; new kitchenettes, showers, fixtures, and accessories at upper-level apartments; and updated finishes throughout the building. Modifications to all plumbing, HVAC, and electrical infrastructure have been made to support the architectural renovations.
