Project Summary
The Wake County Board of Elections Renovations Phase II Project includes upfitting approximately 23,000 square feet of warehouse area to provide much-needed training space, support service areas and meeting rooms. The project will include improvements to the building envelope and the building's functional efficiencies and sustainability; enhancements to mechanical, electrical, plumbing and security systems; and accessibility improvements. Site improvements include amending the existing stormwater BMP, building a new circulation drive, new landscaping, accessible sidewalks and ramp, and repavement of the truck service court.
Construction began just after the 2020 elections and substantial completion was achieved on September 5, 2021 in time for Board of Elections meetings, precinct worker training, early voting, and the general 2021 municipal elections.
